Season Debut: Celebrating my 16th Year of Life

Dearest Journal, today marks the 16th celebration of my birth. This is the beginning of my introduction to society as a lady. Everything is going so fast. Mama told me I should apply myself more in piano lessons and my embroidery. Mama explained that no one will want to marry me if I am not accomplished in lady-like tasks. My governess Miss Isabella Archer Is forever berating me for not acting like a young lady in her presence.

Father is working away again, I wish for nothing more than to have him home for my birthday celebration a week on Friday. I believe this celebration is so far away to allow us to move down and settle in our London home. This coming season is my debut to society as a Lady. I am excited but incredibly nervous as I am to be presented to the Prince Regent, my hope was to be presented in front of the king as my sister was, but that was not to be however as he has fallen sick. I may still see him in future seasons as my younger sisters are still to be presented. I wish for his renewed constitution.
