Season Debut: I have been Noticed!

Dearest Journal, it has been three days since I went on the hunt for the elusive dress for my debut. I may have mentioned in my other entry that I may have an attraction to the dressmaker's son Mr Fitzgerald. Well, he has noticed me. I returned home this afternoon from my piano lessons to find that Mr Fitzgerald left me a love note. I can not wait to write him back with how I feel. I never thought this would be this easy. I hope that Mr Fitzgerald marks the end of my suitor search as it is so tiring.

[later that night] Mama found out about what Mr Fitzgerald and I intend on doing. She is not pleased about it at all. She hit me and called me stupid for even entertaining the idea that the dressmaker's son could be a potential suitor. She has sent a letter to Papa for him to come home to lead the family. Mama put in the letter that your daughter will ruin and tarnish the family's reputation. I need to speak to Mr Fitzgerald and see what we can do or if all is lost so early on.
